Thursday, June 20, the municipal council was held at the headquarters of the community of communes of Deux-Rives (CC2R). Moment of exchange to improve the living environment of Valencians.

Occitanie town center partnership project

This project aims to support small towns, rural or peri-urban towns in the Occitanie region on several points concerning the dynamics and living environment of the city: the qualification and promotion of heritage, economic and tourist development and the development of the housing supply. For this project, the partners are the Occitanie region, the department of Tarn-et-Garonne, the community of communes of Deux-Rives, the PETR Garonne-Quercy-Gascogne and the commune of Valence-d’Agen.

As a reminder, the Bourg-Centre 1st generation contract was approved on May 27, 2019 by the municipal council. Thursday evening, Valencian elected officials adopted an amendment concerning the 2nd generation Bourg-Centre contract. The objectives are to extend the duration of this contract until December 31, 2028.

This involves updating the contextual elements and the development issues to be worked on and finally, optimizing the intercommunal organization between the town center communities adjoining the city. “This approval will make it possible to extend and strengthen the partnership for the development of the municipality of Valence-d’Agen, by ensuring that the actions undertaken are part of a coherent regional dynamic that is beneficial for the entire territory,” explained the city’s mayor, Jean-Michel Baylet.

Population census planned for 2025

In the administration register, we note the letter from INSEE (National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies) announcing that the city of Valence-d’Agen was drawn to census its population from January 16 to February 17, 2025 , knowing that the last census dates from January 17 to February 16, 2019. It was noted that Sonia Lespes would be survey coordinator and contact person for INSEE, as for the last three censuses.

At the same time, another investigation was entrusted to the city, and not the least important: the family investigation. Implemented every ten years since 1954, this survey is carried out on a sample of municipalities and aims to understand the major developments in society and to understand the lifestyles of today’s families.
