Mayenne and Maine-et-Loire therefore returned to orange alert for floods this Friday morning, according to the latest Météo France bulletin.

In total, eleven departments are on orange alert for thunderstorms and rain-floods : Risk of flooding for Mayenne, Maine-et-Loire, Isère, Nièvre and Yonne. Risk of rain-flooding for Isère, Hautes-Alpes, Eure-et-Loir, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret, Sarthe and Savoie.

THE heavy rain in western France have caused “major overflows” of the Oudon since Thursday morning in the Craonn sector in Mayenne. Red vigilance must continue on Friday. Of the locally strong thunderstorms can take place at the end of Thursday in the Craon sector: “Very significant overflows are expected at the end of the morning“, warns Météo France.

In the center-west, localized overflows are observed on the sections of La Seudre, Charentonne, Charente source, due to the heavy rains at the start of the week“, also indicated Météo France.

Mayenne and Maine-et-Loire are also placed on orange alert for thunderstorms and rain-flooding from 3 p.m. Three other departments in the west of the country are affected by this alert: Sarthe, Loire-Atlantique and Ille-et-Vilaine. Orange vigilance will end around midnight.
