Wild Rose Country has a long, hot summer ahead, so it’s only a matter of time before a beach is the coolest place to be.

Located less than 20 minutes from the Town of Slave Lake, Devonshire Beach is an Alberta oasis with 1.5 kilometers of soft sand and serene views.

Whether you’re looking for a place to spend a day with family, friends or a special someone, this stunning spot is perfect for sunbathing, picnicking or castle building.

The beach here is neat and well maintained, plus dogs are allowed as long as their humans chase them and stay on a leash.

As if it couldn’t be better, those who need a wheelchair won’t have to sit still because not only do they have an accessible viewing platform with a ramp on the beach, but they offer also beach wheelchairs by the beach. Marten River Campground.

Does this seem like enough to extend your stay?

The nearby beach at Devonshire Camping has 14 campervan pitches with kitchen and toilets.

If you want to check it out, pack your bags and some snacks, then hit the road – but be wary.

Adventurers from Calgary will be happy to have a nice ride, while those departing from Edmonton will only need to be in the car for about 3 hours.

No matter where you’re from, have fun and don’t forget to wear sunscreen, but hurry!

You only have until September to take advantage of it.
