A 43-year-old woman died after falling from the eighth floor of a building in Bouscat (Gironde), near Bordeaux, on the night of Wednesday 26 to Thursday 27 June 2024. The victim died instantly, reports France 3 New Aquitaine .
The fall happened around 3am. Firefighters arrived on the scene but could only confirm the death of the forty-year-old. An investigation has been opened and entrusted to the police of the Bordeaux territorial crime division, according to South West .
An investigation into intentional homicide
A 34-year-old man who was in the victim’s apartment at the time of the incident was arrested and taken into custody. However, his arrest was made “as part of a research file” and not for this matter. He was in fact wanted for acts of rape of a minor in Charente-Maritime, specifies South West.
The man was in a state of advanced intoxication, according to information from France 3. At this stage of the investigation, no avenue is excluded, said the deputy public prosecutor of Bordeaux. The judicial investigation opened for these facts was, however, reclassified as intentional homicide during the day of Thursday, specifies France Blue Gironde .
