Music Festival: an explosive program in Montauban

the essential
Jazz, rock, house, bossa-nova, disco, classical: the programming for this 2024 edition of the Fête de la Musique is deliciously eclectic. Squares, prefecture, media library: we take a tour of the owner. And it’s free!

Like every year, the City of Montauban invites the public to enjoy the summer solstice with music. Here is the program !

Place Nationale.
Royal Swing (jazz), 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. With infectious energy and good humor, Royal Swing performs the great standards of jazz, swing, gypsy jazz and bossa nova from the 20s to the 60s, from Django Reinhardt to Ella Fitzgerald.

Le Petit Orléans (New Orleans jazz), from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Le Petit Orléans offers contrasting and warm music, with the rhythms of New Orleans and the sunny sounds of the Caribbean: traditional jazz and biguine.

Place Roosevelt.
Amareïa (bossa-nova), from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The quartet explores the greatest standards of bossa nova and Latin music, with texts sometimes translated into French, to offer the public a sunny and melancholic escape across the Atlantic.

La Loca (salsa), from 9:30 p.m. to midnight. Gathered around Mexican singer Gerardo Gutierrez, 7 musicians revisit the Latin American repertoire and more particularly salsa, from Cali to New York.

Place Penelope.
Dale Cooper (house), 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.. A Dale Cooper set is the promise of a stylish journey through the world of house, from Chicago, Detroit and New York via Paris, Tokyo or London.

Access Crew (disco funk), 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Access Crew is a crew whose mission is to rescue the Disco Planet, in the midst of a groove shortage. Its members draw inspiration from a multitude of styles ranging from disco-house to progressive rock.

Yeah (soul Electro Pop), 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Winner of the Tremplin stage of the Montauban en Scènes 2023 festival, Oui is the musical project of Pierre Consolle and Benoît Rigoni. The hand-sewn pieces from Benoît’s loops and Pierre’s words find a beautiful setting in structures with delicate construction and a light groove.

Esplanade des Fontaines.
Conservatory concert, at 6:15 p.m. The Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory’s scheduled classes performs to the great pleasure of the public.

Memo – Media Library.
Bêtes encounters (musical show from 5 years old), at 5 p.m.
This sonorous and inventive tale where theatrical performance and dance mingle with music is to be shared with the family.

Carmelite Temple.
Conservatory concert, at 7 p.m.
The conservatory’s recorder and organ classes will play a repertoire of classical music.

Prefecture.
From 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The 24 student dancers from the flexible dance schedule (CHAD) class at Ingres College will perform three choreographic performances in classical, contemporary and jazz dance.

From 9 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. The Montech harmony orchestra (25 musicians), one of the oldest harmonies created in 1885, will play its repertoire under the direction of David Galasso.

And all over the city.
This Friday, June 21, all styles of music are swarming in the city of Ingres. We can find in particular: La Conspirason (square Picquart), the musical groups of the Africa festival in the Grand Montauban (place Lalaque) or Leéveil occitan 82 (cours Foucault). We don’t forget the many groups along the streets of the city center: Les Notes bleues, Asterways, Sofame, DJ Johnny Mendes, PMG Trio, Nuances Danse School / Deejay Dikay, Bakuruba, Los Rabos, The giants Bora lá, Iciben , BOB, From Here and Elsewhere, René Garet, Tralala, etc.
