Languedoc jousts are one of those traditions which, due to their intensity and the enthusiasm they unleash, have survived the centuries.
Born in Frontignan la Peyrade, they see agile and massive men compete in duels, as well as women, mainly from around the Thau basin.
Perched on the pole of their boat, equipped with a lance, they must, by striking their adversary’s bulwark, make him fall into the water. This is the main principle… But the regulations have their subtleties which your neighbor will not fail to explain to you in detail.
A jousting school welcomes children from 3 years old.

Sunday July 14
City tournament (open to all)
- 11 a.m.: jousters’ ceremony, Place de l’Hôtel de Ville
- 4 p.m.: jousters’ parade, Place de l’Hôtel de Ville towards Quai Caramus
- From 4:30 p.m.: local jousting tournament, Caramus and Jouteurs quays.
- Prize giving ceremony at 7 p.m., Town Hall
Wednesday July 17
Regional criterium tournament, organized by the Société des Jouteurs Frontignanais (SJF), for the lightweight pupil, junior and cadet categories.
- 1:30 p.m.: tournament, Caramus and Jouteurs quays
- 7 p.m.: awards ceremony, quais du Caramus, SJF premises
Thursday July 18
Trolley tournament, organized by the Société des Jouteurs Frontignanais (SJF), for children.
- 6 p.m.: parade departing from City Hall, Place de l’Hôtel de Ville
- 6:30 p.m.: Place Jean-Jaurès
Friday July 19
Regional tournament, organized by the Société des Jouteurs Frontignanais (SJF), for junior categories.

Saturday July 20
