The meeting is at Place des Terreaux.

Emotions are still running high the day after the indictment of two 13-year-old teenagers in Courbevoie in Hauts-de-Seine. They are suspected of gang rape, death threats, insults and anti-Semitic violence against a 12-year-old girl.

The facts date back to last weekend. While she was with a friend, the victim was allegedly taken to an abandoned building where she was beaten, raped and threatened by three young people. The latter would also have called the teenager “dirty Jew“.

The young girl was finally taken care of by emergency services. She also filed a complaint at the police station with her parents. The investigation quickly led to the arrest of three suspects. Two were indicted, the third aged 12 was placed under the status of assisted witness for the acts of rape.

There are numerous reactions after this news item. The chief rabbi of France, Haïm Korsia, said he was “horrified” while Emmanuel Macron called for the organization of a “time of discussion” to fight against anti-Semitism in schools.

Several gatherings are also organized this Wednesday. This will be the case in Lyon where Licra Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes will be present from 6:30 p.m. on Place des Terreaux during an event supported “by the Jewish community of Lyon and its region”.
