Variable subsidies
Complementary to national aid, these subsidies however vary from one metropolis to another and depend on the resources of the applicants.

A rise in renovation aid
Improving the energy efficiency of the French real estate stock constitutes one of the major challenges of the ecological transition.

But they are less known. “However, these subsidies remain very variable from one metropolis to another and subject to precise eligibility criteria”specifies Ithaca.
Rouen, Lyon… metropolises that help middle-income earners
The metropolis of Rouen, in first position in the Ithaca ranking, offers €17,800 to households with intermediate incomes who renovate their homes. In Lyon, they can hope for €16,000, in Grenoble €10,600 and in Strasbourg €9,500.

Metropolises that also support high incomes
If the top 5 metropolises are the same in both rankings, their position can change depending on the income level of the applicants.
But the aid amounts nevertheless remain generally similar from one classification to another. Lyon, for example, moves into second place with a subsidy distributed to higher-income households identical to households belonging to the middle-income category (€16,700).
Conversely, Nice is significantly more advantageous for intermediate incomes (€17,000, compared to €16,700), like Strasbourg (€9,500, compared to €8,600) and Grenoble (€10,600, compared to €6,350).

Financial aid even in other metropolises
But according to Ithaca, even metropolises outside the top 10 are not left out. They all offer assistance programs which aim to fill the gaps in MaPrimeRénov’. Some, like Brest, will seek to finance self-isolation projects, others like Tours will focus on households with modest and very modest incomes.
