This Saturday, June 22, the Olympic flame will pass through the Loire department. She will begin her journey in Roanne before arriving in Saint-Étienne. After Feurs halfway, it’s time for Saint-Chamond.
The flame will begin its relay in Saint-Chamond, in front the Arena Saint-Étienne Métropole at 3:20 p.m. The route has already been drawn with a pink line on the road. The torch will leave towards the city center, towards the Liberty Square. « It’s something that has been there for centuries and centuries, so it’s still a little bit of pride to see it pass through our city. », Explains Thania, a volleyball fan, with stars in her eyes.
Activities at Place de la Liberté and at Novaciéries
Both places will be crossed by the flame. From 2 p.m., villages will be set up with sporting and cultural activities. The end of the evening will be spent on Liberty Square. A DJ will punctuate the evening from 18h. You can then continue the music festival from the day before with a tribute concert to the group ABBA at 8:15 p.m.. Several parking areas are available.
