On Monday, October 5, 2020, Samuel Paty, professor of history and geography, gives a moral and civic education (EMC) course on press freedom — during which he shows caricatures of Mohammed published in Charlie Hebdo — to his fourth grade 5 class at Bois-d'Aulne college, located in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines). On Friday October 16, as he left class, he was assassinated by an Islamist terrorist, Abdoullakh Anzorov.
