Eco-delegates involved

“Étoffe ta benne” is an ecological challenge set up since September with schools in the intermunicipalities of Boulay and Bouzonville. The 2,500 participating students had to collect as many textiles as possible to be recycled. In total, a little more than 2 tons of textiles were collected, including 1 ton raised by the winning college. The CPE of the establishment was admiring of the accomplishment of the 20 volunteer eco-delegates of the college “who were really very active”. He is convinced that this type of project “gives meaning to their commitment”. Those concerned seemed delighted with their victory, and celebrated together after the speech by Lila Sekhaine, who came to give them the check as well as t-shirts.

Education and ecology: winning formula?

This project to raise awareness of textile overconsumption achieved “unexpected” results, according to Lila Sekhaine, pleasantly surprised by the commitment and seriousness of the students during this challenge. This is why, Yvette Keiff emphasizes that this type of ecological project linked to school and education allows students from intermunicipalities to be able to come together while being concerned about ecology and the well-being of the environment. However, the director of the departmental union of MJC of Moselle would like to “carry out other projects outside the establishments”. The results of this challenge also gave ideas to the Deputy Director of the General de Gaulle college who plans to organize a thrift store next year to continue ecological education among students.
