In Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown police confirm having seized 339 grams of fentanyl, in addition to approximately 1,000 Xanax tablets.
An investigation by the Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit led to the seizure Friday evening.
Tye Poirier, a 29-year-old man from Stratford, faces two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. Two cell phones and a vehicle were also seized.

specifies the police force in a press release.
The man remains in custody at this time; no court date has yet been set for his appearance in provincial court.
