The seizure took place Friday evening in Charlottetown, a 29-year-old man faces two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

In Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown police confirm having seized 339 grams of fentanyl, in addition to approximately 1,000 Xanax tablets.

An investigation by the Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit led to the seizure Friday evening.

Tye Poirier, a 29-year-old man from Stratford, faces two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. Two cell phones and a vehicle were also seized.
