Work to requalify the town center of Saint-André-de-Cubzac will begin next January and end in September. They will cause some disruption for businesses and liberal professions located within the planned area. To address their concerns, the municipality invited them to an information meeting on Monday, November 18.
In addition to elected officials, several institutions were represented: the commercial court, the CCI, Urssaf, the Public Treasury, as well as the project manager of the works. After recalling the schedule of construction sites which will begin with Cours Clemenceau in January, the 18 traders, out of the 48 guests who made the trip, were able to express their concerns and obtain certain details.
“We delayed the start of the work in January so as not to impact the end-of-year holiday period,” recalled Célia Monseigne, mayor of the town, “and we have provided for compensation included in the 2025 budget.”
An amicable compensation commission
This compensation will be done through a CIA, specified Sandrine Hernandez, municipal councilor delegated to the city center: “This amicable compensation commission, made up of representatives of the CCI, the municipality and accountants, will examine the files submitted by the traders and, taking into account various criteria, will set the amount of each compensation. »
The CIAs, set up around thirty years ago, are free and faster than going to the administrative court. The first files can be put together in April for a first visit to the commission in May, for the first compensation in June and July, generally six months after the construction sites.
Elected officials also recalled that this work, which has become essential, has the primary aim of improving the living environment and helping traders by facilitating residents' access to their businesses with the creation of quick stops and more accessible sidewalks. wide. “We are here to answer questions and concerns,” concluded Sandrine Hernandez. A project office will be open several times a week. »
