More than thirty speeding incidents recorded in two days in Gard, including a driver leaving a wedding controlled at 216 km/h on the A9

In total, the departmental road safety squadron recorded 31 speeding incidents this weekend.

This long weekend was not easy for the gendarmes of the Gard departmental road safety squadron. Positioned on several roads, they noted numerous speeding incidents between Saturday November 9 and Sunday November 10. Starting with Saturday, where 19 drivers were checked for excessive speed on the RD 6113. A roadway that was particularly wet due to the weather. One of them actually had his license revoked.

Two license withdrawals for speeding and drug use

The next day, Sunday November 10, this time twelve motorists were intercepted for speeding on the RN 106, but also on the A9. Among them, a driver who was leaving a wedding and who was visibly in a hurry, since he was stopped at 216 km/h. A second was controlled at 173 km/h on a road limited to 110 km/h. In total, during this day, three licenses were withdrawn, including two for both speeding and driving under the influence of drugs.

An assessment over the weekend which amounts to eight license withdrawals and four impoundments. As a reminder, the latest road safety report from September shows 49 deaths on Gard roads since the start of the year…
