This time the dice are all thrown. The outgoing MP, Lisa Magnierseeks, putting all “his guts and his heart” as she confided on Saturday June 15, her own succession in the 4e Marne district (Châlons – Argonne – Reims Est) but as established and determined as it is, the battle promises to be arduous. Although she only displays her Horizons party on her campaign propaganda, the Châlonnaise is indeed from the presidential majority which was sanctioned on June 9, to the Europeans. A vote which led the President to dissolve the National Assembly in the face of the rise in power of the National Rally.

A new face at the RN

The RN, which had moved significantly closer to the MP during the last legislative election by going from 10,000 votes difference in 2017 to 3,000 in 2022 with Thierry Besson as candidate, is changing sides. This time he leaves with Achille Bisiauxneo-Châlonnais for two years, advisor to the RN group in the National Assembly, less known locally who intends to benefit from the momentum of Europeans.

Two members of the Châlonnaise municipal majority in the running

Between the two, comes to interfere Gabriel Michel for the Republicans, “non-ciottists”, he specifies. The student is, like Lise Magnier, a member of the Châlonnaise municipal majority. If you find yourself face to face with your colleague “is not the most pleasant of situations », he nevertheless considers that “the national issue surpasses this local proximity”.

LFI for the New Popular Front

On the left, the New Popular Front leaves with an LFI candidate, Maxence Laurentwhose nomination is not unanimous, the PS having also claimed the constituency and even considered opposing a social-ecologist candidacy before giving up…

Workers’ Struggle, on the other hand, reiterates, as in 2022, with Laurent Gosseauwhich does not disarm despite its small score two years ago: only 1.3% of the votes cast in its favor.

Finally, surprise this Sunday evening, a sixth candidate has slipped into the campaign. Marty Ducandaa Mourmelonnais, is running under the banner of the Revolutionary Alliance, a party described as ” neutral “ which he created himself, in October 2023.
