Legislative elections 2024. The equation with (at least) two unknowns in Côte-d’Or

Who will be the candidate of the presidential majority in the fourth constituency of Côte-d’Or and who will represent Les Républicains (LR) in the fifth? These are the two big unknowns which remain a few hours before the closing of the submission of candidatures for the legislative elections of June 30 and July 7. While knowing that last minute dissidents could also come forward and further muddy the waters that the parties had great difficulty dealing out this week…

1D Côte-d’Or constituency: For the New Popular Front, it is Océane Godard (PS) who is running. She will face the outgoing Renaissance deputy Didier Martin, and François-Xavier Dugourd, the historic LR. We also know that the young magnetizer Cyline Humblot-Cornille will represent the National Rally in this constituency.

2e Côte-d’Or constituency: It is Catherine Hervieux (Ecologists and Citizens) who dons the cap of the New Popular Front. The candidate for his own succession Benoît Bordat will represent the presidential majority. Declared at the end of the week, Laurent Bourguignat will leave for the LR and Tatiana Guyenot for the National Rally.

3e constituency: Surprise here for the New Popular Front with the candidacy of the socialist Pierre Pribetich. He will find himself facing the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Labor, Health and Solidarity, responsible for the elderly and disabled people, Fadila Khattabi, the young LR Charles Bourgadel and the paratrooper, former prefect of Seine-et -Marne and Eure, Thierry Coudert, for the RN.

4e constituency: Valérie Jacq, the only LFI candidate in the department at the moment, will face the outgoing LR deputy Hubert Brigand, and the Parisian RN who has a second home in Saulieu, Sophie Dumont. It remains to be seen who will take the place to represent the majority in this constituency.

5e constituency: The French Communist Party has its representative, under the New Popular Front label, in the person of Jérôme Flache, the former mayor of Nolay. Didier Paris, outgoing deputy, also returns for the presidential majority. René Lioret, president of the RN in Côte-d’Or, was also one of the first to formalize his file. The last unknown in this territory is whether an LR candidate will come forward, given the non-candidacy of the mayor of Beaune Alain Suguenot.
