The weather is variable this Friday June 14, 2024 in the evening. It’s the first day of the 6e edition of the Back home festival in La Baconnière (Mayenne). The festival is nestled in a valley near the town center, so much so that the music is not audible beyond and even when approaching the site.

The weather is variable, the wind blows and gives way to a downpour, a ray of sunshine then a thin crescent moon. Festival-goers are equipped with boots and rain gear.

Loyal festival-goers

The first on the site benefit from thehappy hour at the bar and buy the sweatshirts in the colors of the festival in anticipation of the cool evening ahead. The family audience is present.

Children wear headphones to filter the music and not hurt their young ears. Campers park their vans or set up tents in the campsite, on the land reserved for them.

The festival-goers in front of the stages, where Mandarine and San-Nom play, are mainly families with teenagers and children. We find Yannick and Valérie, Baconnerians who came with family. We came to all the editions, I think assures Yannick, thinking back to the years 2020 or 2021 when the format of the festival had been modified.

The sound becomes more rock with the appearance of Johnnie Carwash on the big stage. The children have gone back to bed when Olkan & the VP arrive on the small stage, then the finale with Kasbah on the big stage.

Coming from Paris

François, 26, has participated in all editions except last year. He came from Loiron with friends and parked his van at the campsite. I like the atmosphere of this festival, in general. I came for Kasbah, Olkan & the VP, Roszalie and I am Fez. I listened to the programming on the Back Home Instagram.

Morgane appreciated Olkan & la VP and Kasbah and summarizes had a great time . She comes from Paris with a group of 15 friends to spend the weekend. We don’t come for the programming as such. Here, we always discover great artists that we are happy to know.

The friends are tent camping and plan to try zip lining. They know the festival well, of which they are regulars. Besides, Colline did all the editions. Faithful in short.
