Saturday June 15, 2024, the Rugby Club of Flers Pays du Bocage (Orne) celebrates the 20 years from the Closets stadium. The enclosure was inaugurated on May 8, 2004.

Why did the structure come out of the ground? “The rugby club lived at the Hazé stadium with football. Cohabitation posed problems, in terms of locker rooms, the calendar… Even the club house was split in two“, remembers Laurent Muratet.

Faced with all these constraints, the town hall made the choice to build a new stadium. “This allowed both teams to experience their emancipation. » The location has been found, it will be at the Closets.

Superb infrastructure

With the swimming pool, the rugby stadium contributes to the life of the industrial zone. In 2004, the rugby club joined a modern sports complexentirely dedicated to the practice of rugby.

We are one of the three most beautiful infrastructures in Normandy.

The latest work was marked by the arrival of Bernard Laporte in 2020 to inaugurate a field.

The lawns have seen great competitions to be held: the Lloza tournament, for under-15s, which brought together selections from all over France, elite women’s matches, the youth categories of Rouen… “We had some great matches, because we have superb facilities. »

The Flers Pays du Bocage Rugby Club will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Closets stadium this Saturday, June 15. At the start of the afternoon, an interdepartmental U12 tournament and the U14 regional finals in rugby union. Then, from 4:30 p.m., a ceremony.
