Quentin Halys’ 100% French journey continues at the Moselle Open

Quentin Halys dismissed Pierre-Hugues Herbert to qualify for the quarter-final of the Open 2024 in 3 sets.

Quentin Halys' funny journey continues at the Moselle Open. Entering the competition as the number 2 seed in qualifying, he dismissed Matteo Martineau in two sets (6-3 / 6-4). The next day he produced a similar performance against Grégoire Barrère (6-4 / 6-2) to secure a place in the main draw. A new stage in the Moselle tournament which should have pitted him against Arthur Rinderknech, who ultimately had to forfeit. Never mind, it was ultimately another Frenchman who was called up as a lucky loser to compete in this round of 16: Théo Papamalamis from Moselle. The stage venue was also dismissed in two sets (3-6, 1-6).
This Wednesday in the round of 16, Quentin Halys once again had to face a Frenchman in the person of Pierre-Hugues Herbert. The latter, exhausted after three consecutive battles in three sets against Robin Bertrand, Arthur Cazaux and Pedro Martinez, combined with a doubles course with Albano Olivetti, only put up relative resistance, allowing Quentin Halys to continue his without fault: 6-1 / 4-6 / 6/4.

Will the series of Franco-French duels end? In the quarter-final, Quentin Halys will face the winner of the match between Benjamin Bonzi and Casper Ruud. A meeting scheduled for Wednesday late afternoon.
