We took the night train to go on a trek in the Hautes-Alpes

Hopping on a night train in Paris after work and waking up in the Hautes-Alpes, in the middle of the mountains: this is the best way to set off on the GR58, which circles the Queyras regional park. One of our journalists tried the experience in trek mode, in total autonomy.

If you like walking in the mountains and you are lucky enough not to leave work too late on Friday, this is the experience to try at least once in your life! As a Rennes resident and a big fan of trekking, I tried this good plan last fall. While the most favorable season reopens from the beginning of June until the beginning of October, our journalist shares this good plan. Loaded with his backpack, he took the 5:35 p.m. TGV to Rennes, then jumped on the Paris-Briançon night Intercités which leaves every evening at 8:51 p.m. from Austerlitz station. After a night in a sleeper compartment, he got off at the Mont-Dauphin – Guillestre station (Hautes-Alpes) and embarked on a trek in bivouac mode and in complete autonomy on the GR 58, which goes around the park regional nature of Queyras. He tells us about this experience.
