“Seul” will be broadcast this Monday evening on France 2 in prime time with Samuel Bihan on the bill. This is the story of sailor Yves Parlier, ready to do anything to complete his Vendée Globe. A film shot in Les Sables d'Olonne in Vendée in 2023.

Only a few days left before the big start of the Vendée Globe in Les Sables d'Olonne, departure this Sunday, November 10, 2024 for this solo world tour without stopover or assistance. In the meantime, you can enjoy the village of Les Sables, or entertain yourself with a new film specially programmed this Monday evening (November 4) on France 2: “Alone” dedicated to the epic tale of navigator Yves Parlier, who is preparing to face the Everest of the Seas.

An incredible test of endurance and survival

Ready for anything, the sailor engages in a frantic race against Michel Desjoyeaux and Roland Jourdain. But its mast breaks in two. He must then face up to hope of completing his Vendée Globe. He will rebuild his mast to start racing again. On display, Samuel Le Bihan in the role of Yves Parlier . The latter transferred the rights to his book for the production of the film.

The Sablais in the spotlight

Filming took place from April 17 to May 19, 2023 in Les Sables d'Olonne. Several locations were used such as the Congress Center, the Olonna port and the old captaincy of Jard sur Mer. Around a hundred local extras took part in the filming. Filming on land but especially at sea, on the imoca of skipper Denis Van Weynberg.
