More than 500 people participated on Sunday, November 3, in a white march in Alénya (Pyrénées-Orientales) to pay tribute to Emilio, reports France Bleu Roussillon. The 14-year-old boy was found dead on October 24 at his father's home. The autopsy confirmed that a multitude of violent blows were inflicted on him. The boy's mother and stepfather were indicted for murder of a 15-year-old minor and imprisoned.
The procession set off towards the pavilion where Emilio lived. Dozens of white roses were placed in front of the gate, candles were lit around the portrait of the teenager. Very moved and still in shock, his close friends spoke out. “Emilio, he was my best friend… Emilio, I love you my brother, I will never forget you”declared one of them sobbing.
Emilio's father also attended this march. He did not wish to speak in front of the crowd but had words of comfort for the many young people, reports France Bleu Roussillon. “You will have to be strong, you lose a friend and I lose a friend too”he told them. The mayor of Alenya, Jean-André Magdalou, greets “a very nice participation so that this boy does not leave in silence”. The date of Emilio's funeral has not yet been announced.
