1 The inaugural weekend of PARCC

It’s a project that has been in the works for around ten years and is finally seeing the light of day in Labenne. Nestled in a green setting, PARCC – Contemporary creative art center in the Maremne Adour South Coast community of communes (Macs) – opens its doors to the public this weekend of June 8 and 9.

For the inauguration, Macs “offers a special program 100% visual arts, 100% free”, very rich, with throughout the two days “exhibitions, guided tours, open house workshops for initiation to the visual arts, a bicycle parade and meetings with artists. 2 The beginning of the Country Sonatas

This Friday, June 7 marks the kickoff in Dax of the 4e edition of the Sonatas champêtres, a free musical event at the Sarrat botanical park. Every Friday evening in June, visitors are invited to “a musical moment” in the open air, seated on a deck chair.

New for 2024: entry is without prior registration, within the limit of the capacity of the site and the 150 Chileans made available to the public. The senior students of the municipal conservatory open the ball this Friday.

3 Dax celebrates the Olympics

The City of Dax is organizing a special day dedicated to the Olympic Games, Saturday June 8, from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Activities in the city center, demonstrations and initiations will be offered “in order to introduce the public to different activities”.

“At 2:15 p.m., the actors and sponsors of this sports day will be presented to the public: Jérôme Daret, coach of the French rugby sevens team, Patrick Guimez, former world No. 4 and head coach of the rugby sevens team. France in BMX Freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics, and Raphaël Chiquet, former vice-world champion in BMX Flat, currently in the French team,” details the program.

Richart Fert will bring a fake “Olympic flame” on BMX to the mayor of Dax, who will light a large cauldron.

4 The Hossegor festivals

After the beach parties on the weekend of the 1er June, Hossegor celebrates its “center” on Saturday June 8 to “honor the city center and its merchants”. The day will be punctuated by activities, car exhibition from 11 a.m., entertainment with games for children, concerts and dance shows in particular. At the same time, the Halles d’Hossegor will switch “into a convivial moment”.

End of entertainment scheduled for 11 p.m. with a soul concert at Les Halles.

5 Read about the wave in Seignosse

Until Sunday June 9, the Lire sur la vague festival takes place in Seignosse, at the Maurice-Ravailhe sports and cultural center. This tenth edition of the youth book and comics festival, labeled Cultural Olympiad by Paris 2024, “puts sport in the spotlight”.

During the five days of a dense program, around twenty authors and illustrators present for workshops, shows and signings. And there will even be “a boom” on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
