A Dutch couple dressed as Batman and Catwoman were flashed at 203 km/h on the highway by the Ardennes gendarmes. The superheroes were forced to end their Halloween party without their batmobile.

In a good-natured atmosphere during his arrest, the couple of vigilantes joined in for a memorable photograph with the Ardennes gendarmes before their car was taken to the pound. Dressed as Batman and Catwoman for Halloween, these two Dutchmen forgot that they were not in a film by taking the A304 at more than 200km/h. The vehicle was immediately stopped once it was flashed by police binoculars, and the driver's license was withdrawn.

Batman banned from French roads for three years?

“Man fears what he cannot see,” replies Batman in Batman Begins. The man arrested on the evening of October 31 could be more afraid of not seeing French roads again for the next three years. At least not as a driver. Responsible for deviations while driving, Batman will have to pay a fine of 750 euros. As for his vehicle, it is now immobilized in Charleville-Mézières (Ardennes).

As for the Ardennes gendarmerie, we will remember this Halloween evening of 2025 for a long time. “On this Halloween day, our operator organized a meeting between superheroes, and it is however not always the one we we think we identify! Still, Batman and Catwoman had to call on Alfred Pennyworth, their butler, to continue their journey,” the local gendarmerie preferred to joke on Facebook.
