Five injured in a shooting in , a 15-year-old between life and death

Police reinforcements are deployed from this Friday, November 1 in the Coronaries district in . A shooting broke out the day before in the evening, between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., at Coimbra Square. The report shows five injured, “including several serious and even very serious” according to the Minister of the Interior. A 15-year-old minor was shot in the head. His vital prognosis is in jeopardy, according to a police source. She adds that two other young people under the age of 16 were shot.

Bruno Retailleau evokes, with our colleagues at BFM , “a shooting at a restaurant, which ended in a brawl between rival gangs.” The minister mentions “between 400 and 600 young people involved”. According to the Minister of the Interiorthis drama is linked to drug trafficking.

For its part, the prefecture confirms tensions between different groups. They required the intervention of the police and the gendarmerie in the evening. The Prefect also visited the site. State services announced the deployment of police officers as reinforcements on Friday in the neighborhood.

The mayor of Poitiers, Léonore Moncond'huyreacted in the morning through a press release. She deplores “a new episode of unacceptable violence for the neighborhood”. She calls “the responsibility of everyone to maintain peace in the city” and greet “the reinforced presence of security forces”.

This shooting “is symptomatic of gangrene resulting from the expansion of drug trafficking” reacted Sacha Houlié on “the courage of the police and gendarmes who had to face this perilous situation”.
