As she works on her first clients, she sets a mantra: “ 'At 40, I would have my institute' I kept it in mind for a long time.”

In 2020, things are becoming clearer: with the help of the town hall and the Gâtine-Racan community of communes, it can set up and fully develop its activity.

But by chance of the calendar, despite opening on October 1, 2020, it is forced to close his instituteon October 9, with the start of the second confinement.

She will achieve reopen at the end of confinementin December 2020, respecting health standards.

With 33 m², she will spend three years working in these premises, with a product sales room and a treatment room.

She has a exclusively female clientele “it’s a choice”, she laments, arrived following disappointments.

A profession that requires renewal

Since July 2024, she has movedin new premises.

She was able to triple the surface area of her institute, to 90 m² and with a second treatment room and a waiting room.

But the job is also demanding. “It takes all the time renew oneselfand avoid routine,” she points out. But the main mission remains the same: “We operate on the well-being support », she adds.

Lately, she has noticed that “people are more stressed, especially this year”.

She intervenes on women of all ages with clients ranging from 12 to 98 years old.

“I have a expertise on anti-aging care, foot reflexology, and of course massages. We have two new features recently, with the dome sauna and the heat spa, which is a Japanese head massage,” says the beautician.

She wants to excel in her profession, and specifies: “It is not because we are in the countryside that we do not have the right to the same care as in the city. I want to offer the best quality of service.”

Emilie Battaglia can count on true loyalty among the people she receives, still mainly from Indre-et-Loire.

“Support is important. I am today blossomedand I have lots of projects. I want to develop duo treatments, and also be able to do comprehensive care on a person. This could involve emotional coaching and holistic care,” explains the professional.

A physical job

If she aims to develop new methods of care she remains realistic about the physical condition necessary to carry out this job, even at 44: “It’s very physicaland the body is often called upon.”

An aspect often little appreciated by the general public.

“There is also an aspect of mental load to take into account,” she adds.

She is considering becoming a trainer, but that is not yet on the agenda.

« I love to transmitand we must anticipate what happens next,” says Emilie Battaglia.

She has currently been accompanied for two months by an apprentice, Lilou Vallet, who is in CAP aesthetic cosmetic perfumery in Aubigné-Racan.

The transmission is therefore already present.

It is obligatory to be trained and qualified in this profession, but the manager of the institute would like to remind you of thedriftswhich emanate from it.

“We do a lot of awareness raising. To practice, you need a diploma, trainingbut this is not the case for everyone. The prices may be high, but they are justified,” she points out. It is imperative to have an aesthetic CAP to be able to practice.
