“Welcome to retirement” workshops, to get a good start to a second life

From June 6, a free workshop to support seniors and retirees will take place, in partnership with the Community of Communes of Mont Lozère.

The objective of these workshops is to prepare seniors to transition from working life to retirement. For this, interactive 2-hour workshops are planned for up to 5 sessions collective. These workshops aim to: inform about access to social rights future retirees; to emerge from New projects according to ideas and desires; and finally, give the advice necessary for an independent and healthy life. “It allowed me to better identify my needs and desires, to take stock at a time when I had doubts, I had lost a little confidence in myself. It also gave me a bit of a boost to get involved in community and occupational projects. This helps me get through this period of life change, during the health crisis which has significantly modified the plans I had,” says Maryse C, participant in the Welcome to Retirement workshops.

A place for exchanges between seniors

This support is based in particular on group animation allowing an exchange of experiences between participants. This mutual help between future seniors often allows them to create relationships between them. “During this 4th session, we expressed the wish to be able to contact each other and continue exchanges between participants. We all expressed our agreement to exchange our emails,” explains Sylvie W, former workshop participant.

For information, these workshops are completely free as part of the CARSAT Languedoc-Roussillon Prevention Course. June 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., The first meeting of this program will be held in Villefort, Rue du Pré de la Foire.
