But in addition to the lack of reference, we will also have to adapt to the exceptional “extra-basketball situation”. “8,000 people and in Mont-de-Marsan, it has a special flavor for several members of the team and for me too obviously, it will be a great spectacle. »
Emotional management
In order to scout out the locations, the ABC team came to train on Wednesday evening and assess the conditions. “During this training, we worked in a fairly concrete way on all our forms of play and on what we know how to do. A little more on outside shots, space, volume was important too. I think that with a few days before the event, there is not much to work on. »
It is above all a mental preparation which seems important for this team, “we must reinforce certainties and remove the various doubts. In terms of emotional management, it’s a group that is capable of transcending itself on many things, we saw in the semi-final the fact of quickly recalibrating to adapt, doing the press zone, varying the defenses, …”
“We are ready”
Despite good training, the reds will start with 7 small points behind, this is a parameter to take into account. “Elan Chalossais had a good end to the season despite their ranking, they had to fight until the end so that means they developed interesting mental abilities. We, in terms of management, know that we are strong in the “up”, we have a lot of qualities, rotation, players who are capable of bringing a lot of things. We will have to be able to negotiate if there are “down” situations, so that the slightly more experienced players take over and are able to put everyone back on the right path if necessary. »
