On this Mother’s Day, the sky will not be kind everywhere with 27 departments placed on yellow alert by Météo France.

Only 16 territories were in yellow on Saturday May 25: the area increases this Sundayto now touch 27 departments of the countryplaced on vigilance by Météo France.

Floods, storms, avalanches…

There are three reasons to watch out for, namely floods, storms and avalanches. These are mainly the sectors located in the north of the PACA region and in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes which are concerned, in addition to Charente-Maritime, Charente, Gironde, Dordogne, Indre-et-Loire, the North , Pas-de-Calais, Somme and Bas-Rhin.

The second of the three phenomena is the most widespread, since it impacts 17 departmentscompared to seven for floods, and three for avalanches.

Occitania rather spared

The Occitanie region is particularly spared from this vigilance since only Lozère is one of the 27 sectors mentioned by Météo France as part of this Sunday yellow alert. Neighboring Aveyron will have to watch for storms in the second part of the day: yellow vigilance will be activated there from 2 p.m., until 9 p.m.

For the 12 other Occitan departments, there is therefore no no alert in effect for now, this Sunday May 26, 2024.
