The Olympic flame passing through Haut-Rhin: which roads are impacted?

The Olympic flame will pass through three municipalities in the Upper Rhine lWednesday June 26, 2024: Colmar, Mulhouse and Huningue. Obviously, given the scale of the event, roads will be closed, access points will be forbidden and parking lots will not be possible.

Here are the rules to follow to avoid getting trapped.

Mulhouse

The first city concerned is Mulhouse. According to the prefecture, parking is prohibited (with removal of obstructing vehicles) from this Tuesday, June 25 at 2:00 p.m. and until Wednesday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m. on the entire Olympic flame circuit: avenue Kennedy, rue du Raisin, Gutenberg, Jacques Preiss, Zillisheim and Gay Lussac.

On these same streets, traffic will be prohibited between 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. This will also be the case in certain adjacent streets.

“For residents of the pedestrian zone, entry into the pedestrian area will not be possible between 7:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. To exit the area between 7:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., you will have to take the streets of the Couvent in order to reach Rue Schlumberger,” specifies the institution.

For residents of the Tour Nessel and Porte du Miroir sector, the same instructions: “for residents of the streets Tour du Diable, Bourg, Loge, Grand Rue, it will not be possible to enter and exit, and the area delimited by the rue Jacques m-Preiss, Zilisheim and Gay-Lussac will be closed to traffic on Wednesday June 26 between 7:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m..”

Huningue

The prefecture has released a list of places where parking will be prohibited in Huningue.

From Tuesday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m. until Wednesday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m.:

• Parking lot of the old town hall,
• Rue de l’Abattoir, between rue de France and rue Foch
• Rue du Maréchal-Joffre and rue Chancel
• Parking on rue du Cygne (access to the Abbatucci underground car park authorized)
• Rue Foch, between Rue Barbanègre and the entrance to the Abbatucci underground car park
• Rue Abbatucci, between Rue Barbanègre and Rue du Nord
• Arsenal Street
• Town Hall Street
• Rue Chancel, between rue des Vosges and rue Barbanègre
• Rue Barbanègre, between rue Abbatucci and number 11 rue Barbanègre

From Tuesday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m. until Wednesday, June 26 at 12:00 p.m.:

• Rue de la Libération, between the 3 Pays roundabout and the Quai de la République
• Rue Chancel, between rue du Maréchal-Joffre and rue des Boulangers
• Rue des Boulangers, between rue Chancel and rue de la Libération

The same principle applies to traffic bans.

Wednesday June 26 from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.:

• Rue de France, between Place de Weil and Place Abbatucci
• Rue de l’Abattoir, between Rue de France and Rue Foch
• Rue du Maréchal-Joffre, between rue de France and rue Chancel
• Rue du Cygne (access to the Abbatucci underground car park authorized)
• Rue Foch, between Rue Barbanègre and the entrance to the Abbatucci underground car park
• Rue Abbatucci, between Rue Barbanègre and Rue du Nord
• Arsenal Street
• Rue de l’Hôtel de ville, at the entrance to the parking lot of the old town hall up to rue Barbanègre
• Rue Chancel
• Rue Barbanègre, between rue Abbatucci and number 11 rue Barbanègre.

Colmar

Rather than listing all of the streets, the city of Colmar made available a map explaining which streets were closed between 8:30 a.m. and the end of the security system.

Be careful, some streets may also be closed depending on need. Directions of traffic can also be reversed.
