Two gangs clashed this Saturday evening, shortly before midnight, rue Gambetta in (Seine-et-). Around twenty individuals were armed with tear gas canisters, sticks and even tools. “A man thought it appropriate to attack another with weights,” explained Jean-Baptiste Bladier, public prosecutor at the court, this Sunday.

The injured man, a 37-year-old man, was hospitalized. “Doctors suspected four skull fractures. The vital prognosis is not engaged,” informed the magistrate. In short: his days are not in danger. According to our information, he was admitted to a hospital in the north of Seine-et-Marne.

Officers from the municipal police and the national police arrested a suspect on Saturday evening. Aged 25, he was taken into custody at the Chelles police station. He was still there this Sunday. He was already known to the police. An investigation into “violence with a weapon” has been opened. “We will see which criminal classification we will move towards based on the elements provided by the forensic institute, in particular with regard to the number of days of ITT (total incapacity for work),” added the prosecutor.

The two rival gangs came from the districts of Gambetta and Noue-Brossard, according to the head of the Meaux public prosecutor’s office. The reason for the fight is unknown.

On the Chelles town hall side, it was explained this Sunday that the facts were spotted by “our police officers who were viewing the cameras of our video protection system. They were immediately able to identify a fight. The municipal police quickly intervened and put an end to the hostilities. » Still according to the municipality, calm has returned to the Gambetta district. And the town hall concludes: “We do not see any tension between districts in Chelles. »
