Designed in collaboration with professionals and the town hall, a new health space has been created, forming an integral part of the historic town center of Bouaye (-Atlantique)at the corner of rue de and boulevard du -Jacques.

If Dominique Oliveira’s pharmacy moved at the beginning of July into the building built by the Lexham company, upstairs, there will be space to accommodate health professionals.

Multiple healthcare professionals brought together

Two physiotherapists, two osteopaths, a psychomotor therapist, a neuropsychiatrist, two speech therapists and a sports doctor will soon take their place upstairs.

However, four empty cells remain.

The medical sector remains in tension in the town and its surroundings.

“We need one doctor per 1000 inhabitants”

The CPTS (Territorial Professional Health Community) Loire et Lac is an association, located in the territory of Bouaye, Bouguenais, Brains, La Montagne, Le Pellerin, Saint-Aignan de Grand Lieu, Saint-Jean de Boiseau, Saint-Léger les Vignes, Pont Saint-Martin.

According to Dominique Oliveira, member and treasurer of the board of directors of the CPTS Loire et lac, which brings together 60,965 inhabitants, there is already a shortage of seven doctors in the sector.

It is estimated that there is a need for one doctor per 1,000 inhabitants. However, in the CPTS sector, which includes nine municipalities experiencing rapid demographic growth, there are 53 doctors for 60,000 inhabitants. »

Within five years, ten doctors will retire, so the demand is high.

Share needs

Today in Bouaye, which has a little over 8,500 inhabitants, seven doctors are in practice, including two part-time. The neighboring town of Saint-Léger and its 2,000 inhabitants do not have a doctor.

In the new Boscé building, which will be completed at the beginning of December, the various health professionals will benefit from a shared secretariat which relieves them of many administrative tasks and reduces the cost of their workload.

The premises are offered for sale or rental from Lexham, a builder specializing in the healthcare sector.
