A severe cut to the lower abdomen caused by a saber blow or from katana. Tuesday October 8, 2024, a 14-year-old teenager was seriously injured in Saint-Leu-la-Forêt (Val-d’Oise). An attack allegedly committed as part of a brawl.

Tentative d’homicide

It was 9:02 p.m. when the departmental fire and rescue operational center (Codis du Val-d’Oise) received a call following what was then described as a tentative d’homicide.

A teenager was found losing a lot of blood on rue Jacques-Prévert, in the Diablots district. Supported by firefighters and a medical team from Samu 95, the victim received first aid on site before being evacuated in absolute emergency by one ambulance you Smur to the Beaujon hospital center, in (Hauts-de-Seine). His prognosis was uncertain.

According to the first elements of the investigation entrusted to the police officers of the Territorial Crime Division (former departmental security), the teenager, originally from the Diablots district, was allegedly attacked as part of a clash between rival gangs. What the mayor confirms (Dvd) Sandra Billet without knowing which neighborhoods would have opposed, nor what could have triggered this brawl. “Several young people would have been involved, but they have not yet been identified. I was told about possible arrests, but this has not yet been clarified to me,” says the elected official.

Strengthening police patrols

Deploring “what happened to the teenager living very close to where he was found” and associating himself “with the family’s pain”, Sandra Billet emphasizes that “this type of confrontation is rare in the town. Residents told me recently that the neighborhood was very quiet. However, we will be very vigilant in the days to come. Police patrols will be reinforced in the area to prevent further violence from occurring.”
