ODS Radio looks back on their ultra-trail and snowboardcross exploits this weekend.

Saint-Gervais is moving into the spotlight of international sport. Loan Bozzolo, South American snowboardcross champion and Stephen Roux, 3rd in the Ultra-Trail Atlas Toubkal, placed Saint-Gervais on the world sports map this weekend. A look back at their exploits and the outlook for the coming season.

Loan Bozzolo, South American snowboardcross champion
Loan Bozzolo started his snowboardcross season in spectacular fashion by winning the South American Championships in Corralco, Chile. After a summer of intensive preparation, the snowboarder from Saint-Gervais showed his talent on the Chilean snow. He is among the best in his discipline. A success that bodes well for the World Cup, but also for the qualifications for the Olympic Games in Cortina in 2026.

“This title is a good warm-up round before the opening of the World Cup, with the World Championships in Switzerland and qualification for the Olympic Games in mind”confides Loan Bozzolo, very motivated by the season ahead. He now hopes to continue this momentum and get closer to his Olympic goals.

Stephen Roux, a challenge taken up on the Ultra-Trail Atlas Toubkal
Stephen Roux, another athlete from Saint-Gervais, also distinguished himself this weekend, but on a completely different terrain: the Ultra-Trail Atlas Toubkal in Morocco. This demanding 105 km trail with 8,000 meters of elevation gain is recognized as one of the most difficult in the world. Despite physical problems at the start of the race, Stephen Roux finished in 3rd position after 19 hours of intense efforts.

Successes hailed by the mayor, Jean-Marc Peillex: “Their dedication, hard work and perseverance are an example to us all. These international victories are also a reflection of the support that we, as a community, give them so that they achieve their objectives. »

To follow this week: the skater Ambre Perrier Gianesini
After these male exploits, it is the turn of Ambre Perrier Gianesini to defend the colors of Saint-Gervais. The skater, accompanied by her partner Sam Blanc Klaperman, participates in the Junior Grand Prix in Wuxi, near Shanghai. A competition that brings together the best young talents in the world. A new hope of a medal for Saint-Gervais, who continues to shine well beyond its borders thanks to his sporting talents.
