Remarkable rainy episode in the Loire Atlantique – Weather news

In connection with the passage of ex-Hurricane Kirk, the Atlantique department is preparing to experience a remarkable rainy episode between this Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening.

The first rains occur in showers this evening then become increasingly consistent overnight. After a few hours less heavy with precipitation in the morning and midday tomorrow, the rains increase in intensity during the afternoon before fading during the evening, around 8 p.m.

Over the episode, the precipitation accumulations are significant, between 40 to 80 mm from the north to the south of the Loire Atlantique, or even locally more on the border of Vendée. Daily precipitation records are likely to be broken in this department.

In the neighboring departments, the accumulations promise to be more classic, but depending on possible readjustment of the rainy axis towards the north, they can potentially reach 40 to 50 mm in the south of Ille-et-Vilaine and between the Rhuys peninsula to Redon. In the east of Morbihan, the basin up to Fougères, 20 to 30 mm are possible locally more. Over the rest of the region, accumulations do not exceed 1 to 20 mm from north to south.

NOTE : Our bad weather risk bulletin should not be compared to the vigilance of Météo ’s public services. It provides additional meteorological information on meteorological risks as such.
The Loire Atlantique department is placed on orange rain-flood alert.
Morbihan and Ille-et-Vilaine are placed on yellow Rain-Flood vigilance.

Météo France vigilance can change at any time or at least at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.
