A new cyberattack against the sites of several Belgian municipalities took place Wednesday morning, for the third consecutive day, confirmed the Center for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB). The pro-Russian hacker collective “NoName057” is still behind the attack.
The latter published a list of the Belgian cities targeted on his Telegram account on Wednesday around 8:40 a.m. The municipalities of Enghien, Comines-Warneton, Mouscron, Flobecq, Amblève, Colfontaine and Malmedy are particularly affected.
“Not dangerous”
The cyberattack was carried out using Ddos, which consists of flooding the servers with a very high quantity of requests, which ends up paralyzing them. The CCB stressed that these attacks are not dangerous.
Similar attacks had already been carried out on Monday and Tuesday against other sites in Belgian cities, ports and public authorities. These were claimed by the same group of hackers.
