: A member of “Mocro Maffia”, of Moroccan origin, arrested

The French Gendarmerie arrested, on Tuesday in , an important member of the “Mocro Maffia”, a criminal organization of Moroccan origin based in the Netherlands.

Said A. was arrested by the GIGN when leaving a restaurant, the Gendarmerie said. Of Moroccan nationality and aged around thirty, the man was the subject of a European arrest warrant issued by the Netherlands. He was the subject of an arrest warrant which had been issued at the end of August.

Said A. is considered by investigators to be an important member of the “Mocro Maffia”, a criminal organization whose main activity, cocaine trafficking, is accompanied by arms trafficking and bloody score-settling. The man is wanted for drug trafficking and production of synthetic drugs. In Spain, he is suspected of kidnapping, acts of torture and barbarity, according to a source close to the case. He will be presented to a magistrate who should notify him, according to the same source, of his extradition to the Netherlands.
