Maine-et-Loire: 2024 general assembly of Ud49

Our annual statutory meeting took place at Louroux-Béconnais on Thursday April 11 from 9 a.m. with a small café and pastries as a welcome.

The welcome from our president, followed by a tribute to our 21 friends who left for the last trip since our last general assembly in 2023 and also to our 14 active comrades who died in the exercise of their duties during the last year.

Our work then began with the 110 participants. 75 powers reached us and 98 guests then sat down for lunch, after raising a glass of friendship with our speakers and our guests.

We welcomed 47 new members, easily crossing the 400 member mark (Amicale de Saumur included).

Michel Bourcier, mayor of Val-d’Erdre-Auxence, François Gernigon MP and member also spoke, encouraging elected officials and parliamentarians to get closer to our Union. The prefect of Maine-et-Loire, Philippe Chopin, gave a laudatory speech, using strong and grateful words towards the Army, knowing perfectly well the existence of our Union and the goals we are pursuing. He himself participated in the award ceremony for the medals with gold stars.

Excellent general assembly.

Michel Lemarchand, treasurer of Ud49.
