The €1,000 game is a radio program broadcast every day on France Inter since its creation 66 years ago by Henri Kubnick.

First called “100,000 francs per day”, the entertainment was hosted by Albert Raisner, Lucien Jeunesse, Louis Bozon… Until Nicolas Stoufflet Today.

Emmanuel Leduc, originally from Machecoul-Saint-Meme (Loire-Atlantique), recounts his three victories in quiz of general culture.

Two “super bancos” won

“The game came especially to the coastal towns, it accompanied a circus. As a kid, I watched a live broadcast in Saint-Brevin,” recalls the retired history professor from the Roger Lanzac era.

In 1975Emmanuel Leduc took the plunge and participated for the first time in the show, “at the time of Lucien Jeunesse”.

This will follow five other appearances radio broadcasts, including one in Machecoul, at the Espace de Retz.

I won two great bancos (the equivalent of twice 1,000 euros to share, editor’s note) with Lucien.

“The game interests me, not the money”

In 1995, it was Louis Bozon who ventured into Machecoulais lands.

“It’s the last time that the game came to the town,” says Emmanuel, who was unable to attend the party, having already participated the day before in Saint Père-en-Retz.

The former history teacher’s last victory was on April 16, 2024 in La-Barre-de-Monts.

Now he has to wait two years before trying the selections again. “It’s the game that interests me, not the winning. You have to train your memory, and when you go to the selections, you must above all have a free mind and not be tired. »

The former participant is keenbut still considers the program “extremely time-consuming”.

Especially since Emmanuel leads numerous actions in favor of the history of the territory within the Machecoul history association and the city’s German twinning committee.
