Morocco affirms its tourism ambition on the international scene

Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, recently took part in the Future Hospitality Summit exhibition in Dubai, accompanied by a delegation of institutional players and private operators, marking thus the Kingdom’s strong commitment to the tourism sector.

Speaker on the theme “Balancing Growth: Integrating Tourism in Government Policy-Making to Tackle Overtourism and Other Key Challenges” » During the summit, the minister took this opportunity to highlight the remarkable performance of the Moroccan tourism sector under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Fatim-Zahra Ammor highlighted the key factors of this success, including the government’s targeted investments in the sector and Morocco’s exemplary resilience in the face of challenges.

An ambitious strategy for the future of Moroccan tourism

The minister also presented Morocco’s bold vision aimed at welcoming 26 million tourists in 2030, highlighting the holistic development approach, placing the Royal Social State project as the basis of economic growth; monitoring of the clear operational action plan for the development of the sector driven by the 2023-2026 roadmap; as well as the preparation of the co-organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, in particular the development plan for road, airport and hotel infrastructure and finally the investment priorities in accommodation capacity and entertainment, as well as as the incentives available to support investors.

“Morocco benefits from exceptional momentum, combining record performance and clear vision. Our participation in the Future Hospitality Summit is crucial to present these opportunities to international investors,” said the Minister.

On the sidelines of the summit, Fatim-Zahra Ammor led strategic meetings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. She met Mr. Abdullah Bin Touq Al-Marri, Minister of Economy of the Emirates, as well as international investors, including representatives of hotel groups such as Ascott Limited, Marriott and Hilton. These meetings aim to establish fruitful partnerships to develop the Moroccan tourism industry.

In addition, as part of the future amusement park planned in Marrakech, the minister spoke with the General Director of the Miral group, which specializes in amusement parks. His visit to Abu Dhabi’s famous parks, such as Warner Bros and SeaWorld, allowed him to observe industry best practices.

This prospecting mission to Dubai thus reinforced Morocco’s commitment to becoming a leading tourist destination, with attractive investment opportunities and a clear vision for the future.
