A stone’s throw from Reims Cathedral, the Saint-Sixte diocesan house arose from its slumber during the start of the 2021 academic year. After eight months of work, the Catholic Institute of Paris (ICP) set down its bags in this vast and majestic seminary, property of the Reims-Ardennes diocese. This is the first campus outside Paris of this 150-year-old private higher education establishment, which welcomes 10,000 students and 900 teachers each year. “We realized that a certain number of our Parisian training courses were not provided in Reims, so the ICP came to supplement the local offer,” explains Olivier Cuissard, director of the ICP of Reims, economist and former teacher at URCA. We also noticed that the Champagne-Ardenne region had the highest post-baccalaureate departure rate in France. It is also to respond to this massive departure of high school graduates. »
There were 520 students on the ICP Reims campus at the start of the 2023 school year, there will be 180 more next September to attend the five licenses, the two masters and the Celsa prep of the private establishment, often in small groups, ‘around twenty students. Including 80% from Champardennais and “students of all faiths,” assures the director. Our motto is: ‘A mind wide open to the world’. What is recognized above all is the quality of our training. » Under associative and non-profit status, the five Catholic universities of France are recognized as being of general interest by the State, which provides 10 to 20% of the overall budget of these establishments.
