The new Cavagnac library was inaugurated

Sunday April 28, the mayor of Cavagnac, Martine Rodrigues, was very happy to welcome the public to the former school canteen, which had become a library three years ago, for its inauguration.

Inauguration, because this place has just been redeveloped. A children’s corner with rugs, board games, a coffee break area, new shelves make the place warm, conducive to meeting and talking. The room is fortunate to have large bay windows, offering a view of the magnificent landscape of the valley, all the way to Corrèze.

The mayor, in her speech, thanked Cauvaldor for its grant, represented by its president Christophe Proença, and its vice-president Alfred Terlizzi, delegate for culture.

Gaélique Jos, departmental councilor, and Marielle Alary, mayor of Vignon-en-Quercy and her deputy Anne Leymat, delegate for culture, were also present.
The mayor of Cavagnac also thanked the librarians from the Lot departmental library, who come to the site to support and advise the volunteers.

Traveling librarians supporting volunteers

Mr. Terlizzi underlined that Lot is the only department which has created two itinerant librarian positions, to support volunteers. Finally, all the elected officials present congratulated the volunteers who keep the library alive, who do not count their hours, and who are much more present than the four hours the library is open per week. They welcome around sixty members.

Congratulations go to Danielle who is surrounded by: Eliane, Brigitte, Marie, Martine, Josiane, Andrée, Catherine. A copious buffet and succulent pizzas made by Cavagnac Loisirs closed this inauguration.
