The committee of the Association of Swiss Management Banks announced on Wednesday, via a press release, the appointment of Manuel Rybach to the position of executive director from January 1, 2025. He succeeds Pascal Gentinetta, Head Public Policy & Stakeholder Management at Julius Baer, ​​who led the ABG for ten years in addition to his current tasks at Julius Baer on which he will focus in the future.

Manuel Rybach is currently Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at EFG International and as such responsible for Public Policy, Corporate Sustainability and Corporate Office. During his previous career at Credit Suisse, he was Global Head of Public Policy & Regulatory Affairs. As part of the change of presidency of the ABG, EFG International delegates him as the new executive director of the association, in addition to his functions within the bank.

The president of the ABG, Giorgio Pradelli, underlined in the press release his great knowledge of the Swiss financial center and its strategic regulatory framework. “He has an excellent national and international network, whether in political circles, in the administration or in associations,” added the president.

The ABG brings together 23 banks which have their headquarters in Switzerland and operate mainly in wealth management on behalf of private and institutional clients. Its members manage more than 1,200 billion francs and employ some 20,000 employees in Switzerland and abroad. (‘AGEFI)
