Tambacounda, Oct 2 (APS) – The commune of Tambacounda (east) received, in five years, 1.8 billion CFA francs from the Support Program for Communes and Agglomerations of Senegal (Pacasen) for the implementation of 22 projects in the education, health and infrastructure sectors, said, Wednesday, El Hadji Hassane Diallo, head of the communications unit of the Municipal Development Agency (ADM).

“Thanks to Pacasen, no less than 22 projects have been carried out or have been in progress for 5 years for a budget of 1 billion 800 million CFA francs,” he declared, stressing that the mayor and his team are “ very involved” in the realization of this program.

El Hadji Hassane Diallo, communications manager of ADM, the structure responsible for coordinating the implementation of Pacasen, spoke as part of the third edition of the Pacasen information and communication tour, to note the level of results of the Pacasen program started in 2021.

“The town hall has invested in sectors with a strong social impact including education, health and infrastructure. It is important to have resources but the most important thing is to invest them by involving the populations in the choice of projects, this is the case in Tambacounda,” welcomed Mr. Diallo.

The mayor of Tambacounda, Pape Banda Dièye, magnified the results obtained thanks to Pacasen funding while pleading for the continuity of the program.

According to him, the funds allocated by Pacasen enabled his municipality to implement social requests in different vital sectors such as health, infrastructure, public lighting, education, etc.

”The Pacasen supported us financially and technically, it is a program which deserves to be better known, we want its continuity”, pleaded the councilor of Tambacounda.
