An illegal man arrested in the middle of a burglary in Sèvres

A burglar was arrested in flagrante delicto by the police in Sèvres (Hauts-de-Seine) this Monday evening. The suspect, well known to the police and in an irregular situation in , was placed in police custody, we learned Actu17.

It was around 8:30 p.m. when the police were alerted. A remote surveillance company reported that a burglary was in progress at a house on rue Ernest-Renan. Quickly on site, police officers from the territorial contact brigade (BTC) saw a suspect with a flashlight on the floors of the pavilion. The officials entered the home to corner the burglar, then came face to face with him. The suspect fled through the roof before jumping onto the terrace.

He was the subject of a French territory ban

The police began searching for the fugitive who was quickly found nearby, while he was trying to hide on a neighbor’s terrace. “He had on him jewelry stolen from the victims’ house”indicates a source close to the matter. While in police custody, the suspect declared that he was an adult, of no fixed address, of Algerian nationality. “He was finally identified through his fingerprints”continues the same source. The suspect is in fact of Tunisian nationality and was banned from French territory, following a previous conviction.

The man was referred this Wednesday and must be tried in an immediate appearance at the court.
