Paruline is an indie-folk-trad music project created and led by singer and musician Charles Labrèche.

Originally from Drummondville and a trained classical pianist, Charles Labrèche was quickly influenced by traditional Quebec music and dance as a dancer in the Mackinaw folkloric ensemble in Drummondville and a musician at the Village québécois d’antan. In recent years, he has performed as a fiddler, guitarist and jigsaw in various events on the trad scene in Quebec.

Accompanied by exceptional musicians, Paruline explores various aspects of oral literature such as traditional songs and legends from Quebec. He reappropriates the Quebec musical tradition by offering both original compositions and traditional songs with eclectic and unusual arrangements.
