“It’s calm at the moment, so we wanted to diversify! » Joris Chandelier is the manager in Rouen (Seine-Maritime) of the Fresh Garden brand, specializing in poke bowl.

Taking advantage of a slump in his restaurant’s business, he is going to organize a sale of lost packages (read box). “We saw that the concept is a hit at the moment,” he tells 76news.

3 euros per 100 grams of lost packages

This sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5, 2024 at the Fresh Garden restaurant, 28 avenue Pasteur.

“There will be almost 500 kg of goods, 95% packages from Amazon. We don’t know their exact origin, but they come from Europe,” assures Joris.

In terms of prices, you will have to pay 3 euros for 100 grams of packages purchased. Obviously, it’s impossible to know what will be inside. So, you may be disappointed as well as delighted to open your mystery package!

The sale of lost packages, a booming concept

Lost packages are packages that, for various reasons, could not be delivered to their recipient. Since 2022 and the anti-waste law, online sales sites are no longer authorized to destroy these undelivered packages. So, destockers buy them back in order to resell them, most often by the kilo.

In the short term, Joris is not against renewing the operation: “We will first see if this sale works well. Either way, it’s very complicated to find a lost package provider. There are a lot of requests, stocks are liquidated within 24 hours. » Proof that the concept is a hit!
