You want to find your traveling companion or part with it? This will be possible during the eighth edition of The bicycle exchangethis first May weekend, has The Music Esplanadein the Fine Arts district Montpellier.

See you this Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5, 2024. Twice a year, the association The Old Biclou facilitates contact between bicycle sellers and buyers during a weekend in Montpellier, in order to promote active mobility and to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

If you want sell your bikeyou must drop it off on Saturday, May 4 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. or on Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. the workshop the fine Arts, 5 rue de la Poésie. The bike will then be stored in a closed room until its sale. THE only imperative ? The bike must be roadworthy. And as the association organizing the event reminds us in its instructions, it is necessary to bring your ID card to proceed with the sale.

Concerning administrative procedures, a volunteer will accompany the sellers throughout the process. They will have to fill out and sign documents such as acceptance of regulation and the bicycle information sheet, as well as to commit to return on Sunday between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to leave with the check or the bike under your arm. After 5 p.m., the bike will be considered property of Vieux Biclou.


To buyit’s Sunday May 5 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. that you should come to The Music Esplanade. The organizers plan to collect between 50 to more than 80 bicycles, taking into account the quantities in previous editions. We will find there all types of bikes so that everyone can get the one that suits them. Mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, bicycles for adults and children, electric or classic, and even scooters will be made available for purchase. The only constraint for cycling enthusiasts: sales and purchases are limited to 3 bikes per person.

According to the latest editions of La Bourse, the average price turn around the 80 euros, but the cost of a bicycle can range from 15 to 500 euros. To set the price, volunteers from the association will be present to carry out a diagnostic And advise a correct selling priceeven if the decision is up to the seller.

The organizers still advise you to remain reasonable and follow the advice of volunteers: “don’t be too greedy, your bike will be less likely to be sold”. We must not forget that Le Vieux Biclou takes a commission of the set price, which is between 5 to 20 euros and proportional to the sale price, only to cover organizational costs.
