“We need to increase the number of routes and move towards water taxis. » (Penda Mbow)

Following the recent road tragedies recorded in Senegal, Professor Penda Mbow called on the Senegalese to exercise more restraint on the road.

“There have been many other accidents since yesterday or the day before yesterday. I think we need serenity. First of all, the cars I saw were so old that I wondered how these cars could have been allowed to circulate. And above all take as many people. There is the fact that population movements are happening constantly. There are too many events in the country, in a small country like Senegal. Even if there is an improvement on the roads, it is still not enough,” she commented. The teacher invited the authorities to act with new directions on the road plan.

“I believe that this shows that today, one of the essential points in Senegal is to build the railway. We need to increase the number of routes, we need to move towards water taxis, we need to find other means…” she pleaded.

Penda Mbow took part in the general meeting of the Civil Society Coalition for the application of the conclusions of the National Conference and the recommendations of the National for the Reform of Institutions (CNRI), this April 27, which focused on the National Pact of Good Democratic Governance (PNBGD).
