Rabat – The Government Council approved, Thursday in Rabat, draft decree n°2.23.1143 establishing the composition and prerogatives of the Commission responsible for implementing the responsibilities of the General Delegate to the Prison Administration and the reintegration.
Presented by the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid on behalf of the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, this draft decree aims to cancel and replace Decree No. 2.13.607 with objective of strengthening the skills of the said commission, defining the mechanisms of its action and broadening its composition, underlined the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a briefing. press at the end of the Council.
The minister, in this sense, noted that this text includes new provisions relating particularly to the broadening of the composition of this commission by integrating new departments, institutions and bodies which are not represented within it, like of the Superior Council of the Judicial Power and the Presidency of the Public Ministry.
He added that the composition of the aforementioned commission will also be extended to other departments and bodies which play an essential role in the qualification and reintegration of prisoners, including the Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT ), the National Agency for the Fight against Illiteracy, National Mutual Aid and the Mohammed VI Foundation for the reintegration of prisoners.
The project provides for other new features precisely establishing the missions of the commission and consolidating the effective contribution of the departments and institutions which compose it and having the mission of executing the responsibilities of the general delegate to the Prison Administration and reintegration, while raising their representativeness to the rank of central director or its equivalent, he added.
